Made by a Canadian

Handmade jewellery with Canadian roots, made in the Pacific Northwest.

Made by a Canadian

The short version

Where it started

I'm Laura Gold — a fashion designer from Vancouver, BC, long before I was a jewellery maker. In 2016, love talked me into crossing the border to the Pacific Northwest, and I've been making things here ever since.

What I make

Every piece is handmade from polymer clay and resin, finished with 14k gold-plated findings. I work in small batches, and a lot of pieces are genuinely one-of-one — so if you love it, don't wait around.

Meet the maker

Art can build bridges.

"Stay Gold" is more than a slogan — it is a reminder to hold onto the things that make us shine. I'm Laura Gold, an artisan jewelry maker and former fashion designer from Vancouver, BC. In 2016, love brought me across the border to Bellingham, Washington.

After closing my long-running business, GoldZ Cleaning, in 2020, I returned to the creative work that first inspired me. Made By A Canadian was born from a simple idea: art can build bridges. Even when times feel divided, Canadians and Americans share communities, friendships, and stories. Every handcrafted piece I make celebrates those connections.

Why it matters

Handmade means something

Handmade, not mass produced

Every piece is cut, baked and finished by hand in small batches.

One of one

Many pieces are the only one that will ever exist. When it’s gone, it’s gone.

Made to order welcome

Sold out doesn’t mean gone — most designs can still be made for you.
